We are seeking an experienced and highly collaborative individual with excellent communication skills to provide interim leadership to the Drill Hall Library, a shared service which delivers high quality library and IT services to support the staff and students of the Universities at Medway.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, has exceptional partnership development skills and can empower teams to work confidently to deliver seamless and high quality services. 

Working very closely with the three institutional partners - Canterbury Christ Church University, University of Greenwich and University of Kent, the post-holder will continue to establish new and innovative ways of delivering academic support, IT support, collections management and user services, as well as developing the shared ULMS platform.

As Interim Drill Hall Library Manager you will:

  • Work closely with senior colleagues at the partner institutions, set the strategic direction of Drill Hall Library (DHL) activity to achieve dynamic, relevant, well-aligned and high quality services and collections.
  • Foster a strategic approach to engagement with each institution’s departments so students and staff can discover, access, and use the full breadth and depth of services and collections to support their learning, teaching and research.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Postgraduate and/or professional qualification in library studies or information science, or equivalent experience working in an academic library. 
  • A proven track record in the implementation of strategic plans, and in the management and provision of complex services

This role is based within the Drill Hall Library on the Medway campus at Chatham, Kent.

 Both Universities have converged library and IT departments and operate across multiple campuses. There is a shared Library Management System, and the Universities at Medway hosts a Shared Services Board for the Medway Campus which is attended by representatives from the partner Universities.
