How to apply

To apply for a vacancy at the University of Greenwich you will need to register to use the e-Recruitment system and submit an online application.  Once you have made an online application we will store your information and when you log back in it will be available for you to use in making future applications to the university.

Please consider the following points in completing your application.

• The online application screens are designed to collect the information that is required from you in a clear and structured way. Please ensure that you complete all the fields. Help will be available on screen to guide you through the online application form.

• You will be able to save and edit your application at any point before submission. It is only when you have submitted your completed application that it will become accessible for consideration by our recruiting managers.

• Whilst the system allows for a curriculum vitae (CV) to be uploaded, this should provide us with information in addition to completing the online application form.

• The final section of the application process invites you to write a series of statements setting out the ways in which your skills, knowledge and expertise match the key selection criteria for the role. The final statement provides you with an opportunity to add further relevant information in support of your application.

• Take time to think about what you have done that is applicable to the post for which you are applying. The relevant transferable skills and experience you outline within your statements may be drawn from current or previous employment as well as non-work related activities in which you have been involved.

Only applications received by the closing date can be accepted.

Applications from non UK/EEA residents

The University of Greenwich is an international employer and believes that equality of opportunity is key to achieving its mission of providing high quality education, research and enterprise for international, national, regional and local communities.

There is a strictly limited number of Tier 2 sponsorships allocated to the University under the UK Visas and Immigration points based system. The small allocation of sponsorships we have will be mainly limited to use in making appointments to lecturing and research positions. It is not possible for the University to guarantee to sponsor a successful non UK/EEA candidate for any post. As such cases arise we will explore, with the person concerned, how the matter of their eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is to be addressed to achieve their employment.

As an employer we are required to recruit from within the resident labour market whenever possible. A vacancy that is posted with a closing date of two weeks from it first appearing indicates that the vacancy is likely to attract sufficient applicants amongst the UK/EEA resident labour market to ensure that the vacancy can be filled.
