How to apply

The University shortlists applicants anonymously (for professional services posts currently). Recruiting managers will only be able to select applicants using the essential criteria of the person specification provided in the application form.

To apply for a vacancy at the University of Greenwich you will need to register to use the e-Recruitment system and submit an online application.  Once you have made an online application we will store your information and when you log back in it will be available for you to use in making future applications to the university.

Please consider the following points in completing your application.

• The online application screens are designed to collect the information that is required from you in a clear and structured way. Please ensure that you complete all the fields. Help will be available on screen to guide you through the online application form.

• You will be able to save and edit your application at any point before submission. It is only when you have submitted your completed application that it will become accessible for consideration by our recruiting managers.

• Whilst the system allows for a curriculum vitae (CV) to be uploaded, this should only provide us with information in addition to completing the online application form. The CV and other personal information will only be shared with the recruitment manager following successful shortlisting of the application.

• The final section of the application process invites you to write a series of statements setting out the ways in which your skills, knowledge and expertise match the key selection criteria for the role. The final statement provides you with an opportunity to add further relevant information in support of your application.

• Take time to think about what you have done that is applicable to the post for which you are applying. The relevant transferable skills and experience you outline within your statements may be drawn from current or previous employment as well as non-work related activities in which you have been involved.

Only applications received by the closing date can be accepted.

Applications and Permission to work in the UK

If you are not a UK or Irish national then you may need to obtain permission to live and work in the UK.

Should we offer you a post we will also need to apply for a certificate of sponsorship for you; this certificate enables you to apply for a visa to enter and remain in the UK. Further information and guidance about work permission can be found on the UK Government’s website -https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

You can also contact the University’s People Operations Team should you have a general query about sponsorship.
