Are you passionate about fostering a fair, inclusive, and respectful workplace? Do you have a strong background in employee relations and investigations? The University of Greenwich is seeking a People (ER) Investigation Officer to join our dynamic People Directorate.

About the Role

As our Investigation Officer, you will lead sensitive and complex internal investigations into employee relations matters, spanning across all internal people policies. You will work closely with colleagues across the People Directorate to ensure fair outcomes and drive continuous improvement in our people practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough, fair, and timely investigations and produce clear reports.
  • Analyse anonymous complaints via the ‘Report and Support’ system and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Provide mediation and coaching support to staff and managers.
  • Collaborate with ER and Change Managers, Senior People Business Partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Support training and development initiatives related to people management and case resolution.
  • Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement efforts.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in conducting workplace investigations and writing detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of employment law and people management frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in employee relations and/or investigations.
