This role is designed to enhance our Research & Knowledge Exchange Services Team in supporting the implementation of our Institute of Inclusive Communities and Environments and to oversee the operational function of the support service. The team provides a high standard of administrative and event support to Institute initiatives and Research Centres ensuring an efficient and effective service for research staff and doctoral students.
The team has a hybrid approach to working which will include remote delivery of virtual services/events, as well as in-person delivery on campuses.
We are looking for someone with strong administrative experience in a Higher Education within a research or knowledge-exchange setting. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills. You should be able to quickly build strong and positive working relationships with administrative and academic colleagues. You should have excellent organisational skills and can plan and prioritise a busy schedule of work in order to achieve objectives. You will have strong IT skills and enjoy multi-tasking. You should be happy to be in a lead position of a close-knit team implementing shared objectives and providing guidance and training. Your experience should include supporting academic staff in a research context; planning and delivering research/knowledge exchange events and activities; supporting financial management processes; maintaining websites and understanding the importance of different communication methods to highlight research successes. You should have a broad understanding of research and knowledge exchange in the Higher Education sector and have a commitment to continuous improvement and embracing innovation.
The successful candidate will hold a degree or professional qualification and/or extensive relevant administrative experience
