The University of Greenwich has an ambitious strategy to 2030 entitled This is Our Time. An important priority within the strategy is to establish an excellent online learning provision, establishing new innovative programmes along with supporting existing provision to develop further.

The Operations Manager (Greenwich Online) will play a pivotal role in the planning, implementation and delivery of new online provisions. The post holder will be joining at an exciting time as we shape plans to deliver online education that proactively supports our students and staff to achieve their ambitions. We are recruiting a new team to lead this work, with this role one of the first positions advertised. 

Using their technical expertise and digital education background the post holder will be responsible for providing operational leadership and management for Greenwich online end-to-end student journey; working with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and continued iteration. The Operations Manager will have technical oversight of this central business area, taking a proactive approach to apply improvements based on student feedback and sector trends.    

This role will also take a leading role in workload planning across the Greenwich Online team, functioning in a scrum master capacity to help track progress, document outcomes and assist in planning. The post holder will directly manage Greenwich Online learning technologists, providing professional support, annual objectives and professional support.     

Due to our ambitions for growth in this space, we are looking for applicants who have demonstrable experience of technical and operational leadership in digital education. You will have extensive VLE administrative experience and can demonstrate how you have developed University wide digital initiatives. You have knowledge of technical standards and compliance considerations related to online learning. As a previous line manager of a central services team, you use your strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.
