The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) (www.nri.org) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary centre of the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy and training to support sustainable development, food security, economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries.

The Livelihoods and Institutions Department at NRI is seeking to a Lecturer in Development Economics/Development Studies. This will be a permanent, full-time appointment. 

The Lecturer will be from an economics or related social science background with strong quantitative research skills and a proven capacity to conduct independent empirical research using modern impact evaluation techniques and other advanced analytical approaches. The candidate will have extensive experience using statistical software and be familiar with widely used secondary data sets.  Applicants will also be expected to have significant interdisciplinary and mixed-methods primary data collection experience showing promise of a strong international publications record. Thematically, applicants should be familiar with interdisciplinary, applied research on conflict and fragility in low-income settings, on climate change and adaptation, on poverty and gender or other inequality or on other related and pressing rural and other development challenges and themes.
