The Strategic Planning Directorate’s goal is to achieve better decision-making across the institution from the analysis, advice and insight we provide, to the trusted relationships we build with stakeholders and the data quality, governance and infrastructure that underpins it. 

Recently reconfigured and expanded, now is a great time to join the Directorate as we look to enhance our contributions to delivering the University Strategy.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to lead the institution’s statutory reporting function. The role will also be expected to lead on data governance and data quality, although applications with developing expertise in this area will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in compiling, completing and data quality assurance on higher education statutory returns such as HESA Student, the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) return and Unistats. Experience in working through the HESA Data Futures transformation within an institutional setting will be an advantage.

The role will operationally engage with and provide managerial oversight of the entire University data lifecycle ensuring high quality data informs our internal analysis and external returns. To facilitate this the post-holder will ensure appropriate governance is in place to oversee the accurate and timely completion and submission of all University data returns.
