The School of Engineering has seen a period of exceptional growth in research, teaching, and enterprise activities. To support and maintain such growth, we are appointing to three posts in the Built Environment Portfolio. We are looking for qualified academics/practitioners with proven teaching and research experience to contribute to and support the delivery of our range of programmes. These posts will be at a Senior Lecturer scale, and we are looking for people with teaching and research interest in: 

  • Construction Economics
  • Management and Economics of the Built Environment
  • Commercial Management
  • Real Estate Development and Investment
  • Development Economics and Planning

Successful candidates will take an important role in the development and delivery of teaching and research various aspects of these areas. They will also need to show demonstrable experience in developing and leading academic programmes. All applicants must have a strong research profile, the potential to develop an internationally recognised research program, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience with external accreditation processes will be an advantage.

Indeed, we wish to invite applications from a broad range of candidates with different skill sets. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a PhD and who combine excellence in teaching with capacity to conduct novel, interdisciplinary engineering research that will expand and complement the School of Engineering and Built Environment’s research strengths given recent success in the 2021 REF exercise. 

Candidates with extensive industrial experience who do not currently hold a PhD will be considered.
