We are seeking Developer to work within the Development (Operations) team, in the Enterprise Applications service, which is part of the Information and Library Services directorate. 

This role would suit an existing developer looking for a change or junior developer with proven skills who is ready to progress their career.   

Under the direction of the Development (Operations) Manager, you will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle of new business systems, maintenance of current systems, changes, and system upgrades, using requisite functional and technical expertise in a timely and cost-effective manner.  

We are looking for somebody who is highly motivated with proven problem-solving and analysis skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their working knowledge application development within an enterprise-scale business information systems environment. This should include database development, with a working knowledge of PL/SQL.  Experience of working within a controlled project environment, utilising code control, development standards and peer review is also essential. 

The post will be based at the outstanding World Heritage Site of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. This is permanent position, and the role attracts London Weighting and salary related local government pension.

The Research Systems Administrator (M³4Impact) is responsible for actively supporting and engaging with researchers working as part of the M³4Impact expansion programme. A key part of this role of this will be supporting researchers to get the best out of the University’s High Performance Computing (HPC) environment, assisting these colleagues in maximising their research and enterprise outcomes. This will be achieved through the effective management and orchestration of people, products, providers, and processes, driving the implementation of functional enhancements to the HPC.

The role sits within the Platforms & Research Systems Team, in the Information & Library Services Directorate (ILS), complementing the existing operations function, specifically for the management of the HPC environment. The role holder will also report to the M³4Impact leadership group.

The successful individual will be responsible for operational and service management processes to ensure that quality, efficiency, and agility goals are achieved. In terms of technical skills, at least five years’ experience within the Linux system administration field which includes proficient skills in scripting and automation.
