Hourly Pay Rate: £8.47 per hour (SP2 Medway)
Part Time Core Hours: Monday to Friday evenings 9pm – midnight, weekends 5pm – midnight & 7pm – midnight (From zero up to 20hrs per week on a rota basis).
Contract Type: Casual

The Drill Hall Library is a unique and major facility providing an integrated library and IT service to staff and students of the Universities at Medway, comprised of the Universities of Greenwich, Kent and Canterbury Christ Church at their shared Medway Campus. 

The Drill Hall Library is dedicated to employing students and offering exciting opportunities working as part of a vibrant team, learning transferable skills and gaining valuable work experience. It also offers a chance to be involved in the day-to-day provision of unique library services.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our customer services team to ensure an outstanding user experience.

Your key responsibilities would include:

  • Sort returned library books using the Dewey Decimal System
  • Shelve books promptly in the correct sequence
  • Tidy library book shelves
  • Help users to find material on the catalogue and on the shelves
  • Assist with the library reservation system by collecting items from the shelves
  • Ensure users follow the library code of conduct
  • Keep the library clean and tidy in all areas
  • Other duties arising from the needs of the information services

This a casual contract up to 20 hours per week, which requires both evening and weekend work until midnight on a rota basis.

We require students for the following employment period:

From 14th September 2018 to 16th June 2019
