Library Student Worker

Library Services - Greenwich Library

Location:  Greenwich
Salary:  £10.92 per hour
Part Time Hours:  Up to 20 hours per week for each of the 3 posts
Contract Type:  Fixed Term - 24 weeks-Part-time until 30/06/2018 (inclusive)

We are looking for 3 committed enthusiastic individuals to join the University of Greenwich Library Service. You will be part of the User Services Team. The post is open to postgraduate students only who are seeking experience in a dynamic library setting. 

You will participate in day-to-day service delivery including; assisting users with directional and initial information enquiries, shelving and tidying of library stock and a variety of other administrative tasks as required. The User Services Team have special responsibilities for maintaining the study environment and making sure the library is a safe and comfortable space to be in. You will undertake routine floor management and the role will involve regular roaming of the building. The University has three campuses; you will be based at the Greenwich Campus, but you may also be asked to work at the Avery Hill Campus Library.

A training programme will be provided and you will be expected to wear branded clothing when working in the library.  

You will have a clear customer focused approach to work and be a great team worker, self-motivated and flexible. Excellent IT and communication skills are required.

You may be asked to work at the weekends to cover absences.

You will be asked to work up to 20 hours per week Monday – Friday.
