Design Studio Workshop Assistants

The Faculty of Architecture, Computing and Humanities Design Support team have a small pool of vacancies for students to assist in the running and operation of the design studios and workshop within Stockwell Street.

Duties for the design studios will include the daily preparation of the studio spaces (involving moving furniture), setting up AV equipment and producing poster / signage. Additional duties will include printer / plotter administration, 2D and 3D design software support, vinyl cutter operation, life drawing cover and general support for staff and students using the studio spaces to ensure a smooth and enjoyable working environment.

Duties for the workshop will include the operation of the laser cutters and 3D printers, general housekeeping required for such an environment and assisting the workshop manager in various university related projects.

Both roles will often cross over as and when demand arises and at peak times you may also be asked to help cover the photography studio; you will work closely with the technical support team to create a strong support provision for all users of the spaces.

Punctuality, approachability, adaptability, enthusiasm and an ability to work independently and under pressure are essential attributes for our team members
