LECTURERS IN PSYCHOLOGY (AC2) x 4

Following successful recruitment of five new lecturers in Psychology this academic year, we are pleased to be able to offer an additional 4 new posts.

The School of Human Sciences has recently re-located in the fantastic and newly refurbished Dreadnought building on the World Heritage site at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. This move, along with the creation of new lab facilities, is part of significant investment in the School and part of a long-term plan to build internationally leading research and teaching in the Faculty.  As part of this investment we are looking to appoint 4 more “rising star” lecturers in Psychology to help grow and develop the School.

You will be joining a School and Faculty that is building a strong interdisciplinary and cross-professional approach to solving the grand challenges facing society. We are looking for colleagues who will have a commitment to maintaining and building the University’s excellence in teaching and learning, and who are doing research that has the potential for significant long-term academic and societal impact.

We welcome applications from individuals with an interest in any area of Psychology. This reflects our already strong coverage of core curriculum areas and clear research interest groups. As a Faculty we also welcome candidates whose research work will resonate with one or more new interdisciplinary Faculty Research Centres within the newly formed Institute for Lifecourse Development:

  • Centre for Cognition, Learning and Education
  • Centre for Managing Chronic Disease and Aging
  • Centre for Stigmatised and Marginalised Groups
  • Centre for Vulnerable Children and Families
  • Centre for Mental Health
  • Centre for Workforce Development

The School has an active and growing research base. Psychology performed well in REF2014. Our current performance and continued investment in the discipline will lead to even better performance in REF2021 and beyond. The University is currently rated TEF silver, reflecting our excellent teaching and learning, and we have realistic aspirations to achieve a TEF rating of ‘gold’ in the forthcoming subject TEF.

We are looking to recruit individuals with a strong and developing track record of research who, at the same time, are able to demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation. Candidates would be expected to have a PhD and a developing profile of international-quality publications, together with appropriate experience of teaching in the HE sector for this level.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
