            <p>Are you an ambitious engineer with a passion for maritime heritage and a talent for computational modelling? We are offering a unique 18-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate role on an Innovate UK funded project to bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and real-world industrial application. This project is a collaboration between the University of Greenwich and the maritime engineering consultancy firm Beckett Rankine.</p><p>In this high-impact role, the successful candidate will lead and manage a project that will develop and apply an advanced methodology for the structural analysis of historic timber ships, using &nbsp;Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and rheological modelling. The KTP Associate will work under the supervision of experts at both partnering organisations.</p><p>While employment is with the University of Greenwich, <strong>the role taker will be based and will work in the Becket Rankine&rsquo;s offices in the heart of Westminster, Central London</strong>.</p><p><strong>The role will involve:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge Transfer: Acting as the link between academic and industrial partners in the targeted knowledge transfer and development of an advanced modelling methodology for conservation structural analysis of historic wooden ships and imbedding the new capability within the company.</li><li>Computational Modelling: Creating sophisticated 3D geometric models of complex, historic wooden vessels.</li><li>Advanced Simulations: Utilising aggregate rheological properties and advanced &quot;smearing&quot; techniques to create robust finite element (FE) structural models and analysis framework.</li><li>Structural Intervention: Designing and evaluating engineering solutions for the conservation of wooden ships and ensuring their long-term preservation.</li><li>Project Management: Leading the KTP project lifecycle, managing milestones and reporting.             <p id="isPasted">Based within the School of Engineering at the University of Greenwich, this role forms part of a transformation as we realign our academic portfolio to focus on Digital Engineering, with a particular emphasis on Infrastructure and the Built Environment. The School operates across two campuses&mdash;Greenwich in London and Medway in Kent&mdash;with this post primarily based at the Greenwich campus, contributing to the delivery and development of our Built Environment programmes.</p><p>The successful candidate will contribute across the School of Engineering but will play a key role within the&nbsp;Infrastructure and Built Environment portfolio, particularly within our established and high-impact programmes in&nbsp;Quantity Surveying and Construction Management. This post will support the School&rsquo;s broader strategic aims and help ensure that our programmes meet the requirements of PSRBs,&nbsp;with particular value placed on accreditation and alignment with institutions such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).</p><p>We are seeking a committed and forward-thinking academic with a strong background in teaching, research, or professional practice in a relevant field. You will bring sector-informed insight and pedagogical innovation that enhance the student learning experience, contribute to the continuous development of our curriculum, and support the School&rsquo;s enterprise and research activities.</p><p>The role also requires active contribution to the University&rsquo;s performance in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), as well as a clear commitment to enhancing student satisfaction and experience. A PhD or equivalent professional experience in a related area is essential. Experience in higher education teaching or in industry-led training is highly desirable, as is a demonstrable understanding of professional standards and accreditation requirements.             <p>The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) (www.nri.org) is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary research centre within the University of Greenwich that undertakes research, consultancy and training to support sustainable development, food security, economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries.</p><p>The Livelihoods and Institutions Department at the Natural Resources Institute (NRI) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Impact Officer to help design and implement SDG‑aligned prosperity and peace solutions in fragile settings. The postholder will conduct high‑quality research in collaboration with communities and institutional partners to co‑design and test practical interventions that enhance environmental stewardship and the R3 (livelihood rehabilitation, community reconstruction and population resettlement), advancing prosperity and peace across the Lake Chad region. They will publish in top‑tier journals and lead impact activities that generate measurable policy, practice, and community benefits.</p><p>&ldquo;SDG-aligned prosperity and peace solutions&rdquo; refers to practical interventions that advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (especially the 5Ps: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, Partnerships) while addressing fragility and conflict. In concrete terms, this means:</p><ul><li>Prosperity: Livelihood recovery, sustainable economic growth, poverty reduction (SDG 1, 8)</li><li>Peace: Conflict transformation, community reconstruction, resilience-building (SDG 16)</li><li>Planet: Environmental stewardship, climate adaptation (SDG 13, 15)</li><li>Solutions in fragile settings: Co-designed toolkits, institutional capacity assessments, R3 interventions for the Lake Chad region.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will be highly ambitious, bringing expertise in interdisciplinary, applied research related to conflict transformation and peace‑centred development, with a deep understanding of institutional arrangements that enable the creation and maintenance of equitable, inclusive, and sustainable societies. They will have a demonstrated ability to translate research into high‑impact publications and to analyse large datasets and identify key impact bottlenecks.             <p id="isPasted">Based within the School of Engineering at the University of Greenwich, this role will contribute to the delivery, enhancement and future development of our Electrical and Electronic Engineering portfolio. Operating across campuses in Greenwich and Medway, the School provides a dynamic environment for teaching, research and enterprise, with this post primarily based at the Medway campus. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality teaching, applied research and enterprise activity across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while helping to shape an innovative and industry-relevant learning environment.</p><p>The successful candidate will contribute across the School of Engineering, while playing a key role within Electrical and Electronic Engineering. We are particularly interested in applicants who can combine strong theoretical knowledge with practical expertise, including the design and delivery of laboratory-based teaching and hands-on learning activities. Expertise in PLCs and automation would be especially valuable, particularly in relation to the use and continued development of our new Siemens PLC laboratory. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the School&rsquo;s wider ambitions in student experience, external engagement and applied research, and to support its broader strategic aims, including ensuring that programmes continue to meet the requirements of relevant PSRBs.</p><p>We are seeking a committed and forward-thinking academic with a strong background in teaching, research or professional practice in a relevant discipline. The successful candidate will bring sector-informed insight and pedagogic innovation to enhance the student learning experience, contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum, and support the School&rsquo;s research and enterprise activities. The role also requires an active contribution to the University&rsquo;s performance in REF, TEF and KEF, together with a clear commitment to student satisfaction and success. A PhD in a relevant area, or equivalent professional experience, is essential.
